Will Tere Bin’s Joshanda & Kheer Turn On The (Cheesy) Romance Meter In Our Lives?

Tere Bin Episode Review: Can we ever look at Kheer and Joshanda again without thinking about Murtasim and Meerab.

Tere Bin, Pakistani Drama, wahaj Ali, Yumna zaidi
Wahaj Ali & Yumna Zaidi in Tere Bin

Kheer and Joshanda just became cool and romantic… and we can’t stop smiling.

As we always talk about foreign content, incorporating their culture and everyday lifestyle moments in their dramas, we appreciate Nooran Makhdoom for bringing some of the local flavour in Tere Bin. Who hasn’t taken Joshanda at least once in their life. To see it becoming part of Meerab and Murtasim’s story made the script so much more apna apna…

It is perhaps, fitting to assume that desi couples are loving these two because their kheer and Joshanda shenanigans are ever so relatable in the average household. We mean, who doesn’t eat or make kheer and brew a quick Joshanda at times? But adding the romance in an everyday activity is what makes it so amusing.

It’s safe to say, if Pakistani drama fans are short of ideas on how to revamp a boring relationship, just brew him a cup of Joshanda or whip up that Kheer. Lots of ideas for Ramazan adverts btw! Just a thought, we’ll leave the rest to you. Yeah, thank us later!

It’s Raining Bullets!

If one wanted to see how someone let loose a barrage of bullets merely through their eyes, watch Meerab glaring at Haya every time she comes near Murtasim. If nothing else, Haya is making Meerab discover her own feelings for Murtasim layer by layer.

Black Magic

With Haya using black magic to remove Meerab from Murtasim’s life, we are not too sure about how or why we need to see this. But the final verdict will depend upon the route this particular story line takes going forward. We hope it will eventually teach audiences that resorting to black magic has serious consequences and shouldn’t be used at all.

Was that a badly executed spirit outside the kitchen, or is there someone out there in real life and not jins. Someone going through one-sided love would relate to Haya when she sees Murtasim and Meerab. But it loses impact, unfortunately, when Haya resorts to practicing black magic.

Cheesy Dialogues Much?

Oye hoye, Murtasim ka confidence and Murtasim’s cheesy dialogues bring a smile – from “ Sip lay lena’ to “ ek din sub feel kero gee”. But just a thought, shouldn’t a cool guy like Murtasim come up with better dialogues?

Hey Murtasim fans, we are having a conversation, don’t be upset… pretty please!

Oh and one more question, sardi sirf Murtasim ko kiyon lug rehee thee, despite wearing a jacket … #justasking

And what happened to the Joshanda? Did Murtasim end up taking Meerab’s Joshanda? Ya scared Meerab ko hosla day key qareeb lana gave enough warmth and made up for the Joshanda being left behind.

A Note on Self Harm

While we strictly believe Haya pouring hot Joshanda over her hand should not have been shown, unless the drama is highlighting how trauma or events in life can lead to the dangerous habit of self-harm in many people. In that case, this must be addressed clearly in future episodes. If shown on its own, as a stand-alone behaviour, it will be disappointing and a disservice, as it just might give ideas and encourage people who are already thinking along these lines.

Murtasim should take Meerab’s advice and not entertain Haya. Maybe his feeling bad for Haya is giving Haya false hopes.

So, will Meerab & Murtasim’s Creative Moves Might Help Turn Up the (Cheesy) Romance Quotient In Our Lives? Why not? Bring it on, we say, all’s fair in love … and Haya! Tell us what you think?
