Ben Cutting and Sohail Tanvir who play for Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators respectively, have taken over our feeds and are the latest talk of the town. Why you ask? Here’s why and what Twitter thinks!

Well, to start it off, Cutting and Tanvir are guilty of objectionable gestures (ahem … what you may ask) while on field during yesterday’s PSL match – Zalmi vs. Gladiators. Yikes, right?
Here’s A Throwback Of Why It Happened
During Tanvir’s over, Cutting managed to score 27 runs, which included three consecutive 6’s. On the third boundary, Cutting made the inappropriate gesture, which was later followed by a verbal spat too. In the next over, Cutting was bowled out by Naseem Shah and caught byTanvir, who showed him both the middle fingers. Yikes again!
But the Story Didn’t Begin Here
In 2018, while playing for a Caribbean Premier League, Tanvir and Cutting, Tanvir made this gesture towards Cutting. So you could say, that’s where all this stary began.
The Aftermath
As a result, the two players are likely to face a heavy fine according to PCB and the PSL rules and regulations. They will have a 15% cut off their PSL match fees for breaching the Level 1 offence of the PSL Code of Conduct.
‘The two also violated the rule of ‘using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a PSL Match.’
Cricket, especially the PSL is a lighthearted, fun league and a platform where all players are expected to show sportsmanship and give us a season for the books. So, obviously these gestures kind of bring about a rivalry and a not-so-suitable example for the young generation.
Sohail Tanvir’s Statement On The Incident
Sohail Tanveer has since, posted a video to clarify & apologize for his misconduct on the field.
“I wanted to clarify this for all the youngsters watching … it could have been avoided”.

Twitter Reaction
While the matter is serious, this spat did set Twitter ablaze with memes and thoughts and so much more. Here’s what Twitter had to say!
If you’re still confused, watch this clip. A little history lesson from 2018 to 2022!
As you sow, so shall you reap. Right?
Celebration or revenge? Hmm…
You be the judge for this one.
Twitter being Twitter, had some memes to show off!
Memes and Twitter go hand in hand! But yes, we wonder what Ramiz Raja had to say.
The jazba was too much.
