Bubble Tea is quite a sensational drink choice in not only in it’s country of origin, Taiwan but also all over the world. Now available in Karachi at Boba Bubble! We all have surely seen viral bubble tea trends on the social media and have only imagined what do all these quirky flavors taste like.

Sipping refreshing cold bubble tea with a burst of fun was all we needed on this scorching summer day in Karachi. If you have always wondered what bubble tea tastes like, don’t worry. We’ll break it down for you! You can now bring your imaginations to life at the Boba Bubble.

We were super excited to check out the Boba Bubble because Karachi has not seen a lot of or actually any Boba Tea options. Boba Bubble has two locations, one in SMCHS and one in Bukhari. We visited the one at Bukhari.

Pinktastic First Look

As you enter, your visual senses are hit by an overload of pink but wait it’s not at all a tacky pink. It is more of a soothing powder pink. The pink is subtle and quite aesthetically pleasing. The place is adorned with pink and gold furnishing with multiple cute neon signs. What caught our eye was how the design incorporated space themed posters detailing all the options and even the history of Boba which was fun to discover.

It helped us as customers to understand each element in the drink, providing descriptions for the cloud foam, tapioca, boba and the milk teas with a variety of toppings such as rainbow jelly, coconut jelly, caramel crunch and marshmallows available.

Variety For All

When it came to placing our order, we were quite honestly overwhelmed with all the choices we were presented with on the menu. So, you definitely can’t say the menu lacks anything. Even though it took us a good 20 minutes to order the boba tea, the wait staff were very kind and helpful with the recommendations.
Before ordering we were stuck in an endless land of boba choices because they even offered globally trending flavors like Taro and brown sugar tea.

Spill Proof Packaging & Great service

When our order arrived which was fairly quick, the packaging was classic, certainly good quality and secure. The wait staff was very prompt with the order and any additional requests. So the experience was seamless.

What We Ordered

So after an eternity we chose to have the Taro Marshmallow with tapioca, the Strawberry milk tea with tapioca and the Lychee Iced Tea with strawberry boba and coconut jelly. We break down the flavors and what we thought down below.

Comforting Taro Marshmallow

The taro marshmallow was true to taste and light and not too milky at all with chewy tapioca. It was a light purple shade of gorgeousness.
If you want a very balanced sweet flavor, taro is the one for you. With a melted burnt marshmallow top which is a divine sugary flavor was so comforting. To give you a very precise description, we thought it tasted literally like cereal milk. But we quite liked it!

Lychee Bubble Tea Without Milk And With Strawberry Boba

The lychee one caught us off guard. Our first thought was, why is it orange? Isn’t lychee a light pink? Well moving on from the superfluous things as one may say, the taste was overwhelmingly sweet, almost like an artificial sweet soda/syrup. What made us even sadder is how we couldn’t even taste strawberry boba because the iced tea itself was too overpowering. Though the boba passed the vibe check and so did the coconut jelly which was just how it’s supposed to be.

Strawberry Milk Tea With Tapioca

The strawberry milk tea was with Tapioca as the wait staff suggested the milk teas don’t go really well with flavored boba. Well, you’re welcome for that tip for when you place your order there. This one unequivocally seemed to be the winner in taste! It was a flashback to childhood for most reminding them of the tasty strawberry milk we were bribed to drink when younger. The tapioca also went really well with the tea in terms of taste.

Pricing

So the bubble tea without milk cost Rs. 550 for a small and Rs. 650 for medium. Bubble milk teas costs the same whereas the signature one with milk cost Rs. 650 for a small and Rs. 750 for a medium. The topping options included various flavors of popping boba and two type of coconut jelly. The toppings cost Rs. 100 each. Considering the rise in prices for general commodities and the sharp uptick in inflation, we think the pricing is quite fair.

Bonus: It’s also a super cute place for you to chill with your friends and family. Also, a perfect spot for your aesthetic Instagram shots. The teas are yummy, refreshing and just an entire experience. We highly recommend you try out Boba Bubble and let us know what you think!
