1. Business Proposal – Jungkook
Could the golden maknae, Jungkook really be a romantic at heart? With a tough, bad boy exterior is he really all about cute romance? While stuck with covid it seemed the rom-com Business Proposal was the youngest member’s binge worthy watch. Initially a webtoon, the show stars Kim Sejeong and Ahn-Hyo Seop and follows Ha-ri, who poses as her friend on a blind date to scare off the potential suitor, only to realize it is her CEO. When he offers a proposal, her plans take a different turn than she intended.
2. Sky Castle – Suga, RM, Jin
RM chatted with fans about the megahit Sky Castle right before rushing to watch the last episode. Suga added that RM did not allow him to watch it himself until he had first. Their fellow band member Jin shared the same sentiments when it came to the show. Sky Castle follows a group of wealthy families living in the affluent neighborhood of sky castle. The children of these families are expected to go to a big fancy med school, creating an environment of ruthless competition and intense pressure. Beneath these glamorous rich lives lies secrets and scandal, waiting to be revealed.
3. Kingdom – Jimin
Jimin says Kingdom is entertaining even though he claims “I have a strong heart so I don’t get surprised easily!” Hmm, so Jimin isn’t really all that romantic opposed to popular belief? Kingdom is one that will definitely surprise you. A mix of historical drama and political horror, it is an epic tale of survival and political upheaval in a zombie-infested Joseon era. The story follows Crown Prince Lee Chang, who embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the truth behind the illness that has left the king in a mysterious coma and the country in chaos.
4. Hotel De Luna – Jungkook
Another recommendation by Jungkook is Hotel De Luna, which makes sense since he is a huge fan of IU, the leading character in the sci-fi romance drama, and he even sent a coffee truck gift to Yeo Jin Goo on the set of the drama. The show revolves around a hotel that caters to a unique crowd: ghosts and spirits passing through the afterlife on their way to the other side. The owner of this hotel is, a woman cursed with immortality, whose world is changed when a new manager is hired. He is Goo Chang Sun, who is not a believer in the supernatural which means the hotel immerses him entirely, especially when it comes to the complex bond he and Man-Wol develop.
5. Crash Landing On You – J Hope
On his birthday Vlive, J Hope gave Crash Landing On You the title of his favourite drama, leading to fans everywhere follow his recommendation and love him for it!
With the forbidden lovers trope, this drama is a must-watch for all romance lovers. A South Korean heiress happens to crash land in North Korea where a skilled North Korean officer agrees to help her get back home. The divide between their countries creates tension and drama, and amidst the challenges they face, the two fall in love. The story is one of love and sacrifice and another one to add to your list.
