Move Over Saad, Murtasim, Asfar & The Rest … Because ASP Arsalan In Jhok Sarkar Just Made It To The Top Of The List!
As the new drama season warms up, it’s fair to say that some heroes have managed to keep their lifecycle intact e.g. Asfar in Kuch Ankahi and Dawood in Yunhi – still giving us hero goals, but … others have faltered, erred, and perhaps, lost the hype they enjoyed over the season. But who are we to complain, we’re just following the trend, guys and gals. And the trend so far just gave us a wild card entry in the form of, you guessed it, Farhan Saeed aka ASP Arsalan in Jhok Sarkar!
We kid you not, but this hero, in his crisp white shirt and blue jeans just made us want to pick up and move to the wild, wild west of Jhok Sial where he’s planning to bring about a revolution! We mean, who does that whilst looking so dapper? Did the police force just get a face lift? You bet it did and if last week’s episode was anything to go by, Arsalan has just woven a dreamy web of magic over the entire village thanks to his one man army.
If dreams were to come true, we’d want every ASP to have Arsalan feels and every Arsalan to have Farhan Saeed feels! Apologies to all the Arsalan’s out there, but we didn’t name the cast, but now that you know, perhaps you’d use this character as inspo to reach new heights of self actualization – yes, that’s how promising he is onscreen!
Here’s 5 reasons why we have great expectations from ASP Arsalan, and we think you should too!
1. The Perfect Break-Off!
A mature, civil, sensible, sensitive way to break off a relationship without making your partner linger in doubt, letting her self esteem remain intact and of course, doing it with grace. No emotional blackmailing here. Arsalan had a very “normal” conversation with Lubna and wrapped up the relationship that would, in real life, possibly head into testy waters. Not very “Pakistani dramatic” we admit, but sending out real life goals to many young couples who might be up against a similar dilemma.
POV: Long term heart break can be avoided at the cost of short term sensible decisions!
2. The Perfect Hero Entry
How else would you define his entry into a village full of villains, thugs and feudal lords? ASP Arsalan did his homework and landed on his feet. It’s always great to make a dramatic entry but even better to make a quiet one, undercover, cool, calm and confident! Also, good to know that the entry had nothing to do with him coming face to face with his romantic interest (the typical Pakistani drama way), and a lot more to do with his career. After all, that is the number one force of ASP Arsalan, to prove his mettle in his professional arena before he captures hearts, right? Well, he already captured ours btw, so let’s wait for Sassi to swoon (or not). Perhaps he’s the one who’ll do the swooning when he sets eyes on her? Just our romantic self contemplations, not to be confused with the real story at hand.
3. The Perfect Lesson In Fitness, Training & Showing Who’s The Boss!
If we thought even for a second that he would leave the drama to the Murtasim’s and Asfar’s, we were mistaken, and happily! As Arsalan strides in the police station complete in police uniform, takes the team to task, inspects the line up, and schedules an early morning jogging routine, we just nodded our heads in dreamy acquiescence, yes, where can we find a police officer like Arsalan – oh the desperate need to believe in reel life heroes just became so much more desperate!
4. The Perfect Shade Of Crispy White
Do crispy white shirts even have a shade?
He could have chosen to wear any colour under the sun – the world is his rainbow (in this case). But our hero chooses to wear white! And a crispy white shirt paired with light blue jeans under the hot summer sun is all we need to know that ASP Arsalan just hit a bullseye! That shirt threw multiple shades of “cool” making all the other present day drama heroes pale in comparison. If you tell us it had zero effect on you, you gotta be watching a different drama, or a different Arsalan – yeah, that’s how sure we are of the feels!
5. The Perfect Add To Our Pakistani Dramas Heroes Canvas!

If heroes be like ASP Arsalan, play on give us excess of them! After Murtasim’s shawl, Asfar’s smart, suited feels and Saad’s bechara moods, we needed an Arsalan to take charge of the hero game and play it in the style it deserves! This new hero on the drama landscape has picked up on what we’ve been missing – a hero who’s sensitive in love, yet able to take difficult decisions, moves ahead with the job, yet tackles it in an original manner, has already thrown style shades, not by giving us a designer wardrobe, but showing us that simple is also smart.
And lastly, but not the least, this hero has probably understood the assignment like never before – the Pakistani drama hero assignment that is, be original, be ASP Arsalan!!
Yes, we have high expectations ASP Arsalan! So keep going, because Tuesdays just got a new vibe and it has to do with a hero in a crisp white shirt, taking on a village, one episode at a time!
