Shah Rukh Khan goes both bald and rogue in Jawan’s prevue in a double role with a heavy dose of action and more. Find out the best part about the prevue!

Can we ever get enough of Shah Rukh Khan? Will we ever have enough of him? Possibly not. Shah Rukh Khan is taking Bollywood to the next level in his soon to release psychological action thriller! Jawan is the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Atlee, known for Tamil hits with Vijay like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. The film stars King Khan in apparently a double role featuring an ensemble led by Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra and Sunil Grover among others. Jawan, releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, will also see actor Sanjay Dutt in a special appearance. It is an action thriller written and directed by Atlee. We will see Khan in a double role as an intelligence officer and a thief with Deepika Padukone in a brief appearance.
Backed by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the movie since its announcement last year, has been eagerly anticipated as one of the most awaited films of the year. The excitement surrounding it escalated even further when Shah Rukh Khan achieved remarkable success with Pathaan, surpassing all previous box office records. Although originally slated for a June 2 release, the film’s post-production tasks caused a delay in its premiere. The prevue is absolutely enthralling and we certainly loved a Bollywood teaser after a really long time.
Heavy Dose Of Action
The movie seems to be an intense action one that is well on par with movies like extraction, the expendables and Abraham Lincoln. (As per the action junkies in our team) The rich visuals in the preview begins with hinting us with Shah Rukh Khan being a forces man but also hints at an officer who goes rogue or is it his look alike thief? Well, that’s at least what we think. He asks those watching, who is he? The hero or the villain, good or bad? A blessing or curse? Whoever he is, he is one of us.
A Bald Shah Rukh Khan & The Best Part!
If you’ve ever wondered, very randomly, how Shah Rukh Khan would look with a bald head, prepare to see your imagination come to life. Can you believe it, he looks good being bald too! At the end of the prevue, the King Khan removes his bandages.
A Heavy South Influence
There is a visibly heavy south Indian influence with prominent south actors and music, obviously having a famed Tamil director. Is Bollywood now realizing the fame and heights the south has risen to and is willing to latch onto its glory? Sure Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t need to latch onto other’s feats but probably has jumped on the bandwagon but we could also argue he was doing the same at the time of Chennai Express when nobody else was doing it so he has just now naturally extended his effort. Will this be another reminder of what King Khan is capable of?
Will We Get Another Hit To The Likes Of Chammak Challo?
Just because it seems to be focusing on an under explored, heavy dose of action movie doesn’t mean there are no dance numbers. The prevue gives away Shah Rukh Khan in a dance number or two in all his iconic b-town glory. Will we have another hit like Chammak Challo? Deepika is back with a bang! She has made sure to challenge herself and not just add glamour and an oomph factor yet again and now will be seen fighting her own action scenes in a sari.
King Khan Doesn’t Just Rely On His Star Power
Also what seems like an ode to his movie Chak De, he seems to be once again leading a girls force in a heavy mix of psychological thriller action. Shah Rukh Khan is one actor who doesn’t settle for his charm or rely on his star power to be enough for the screens, he evidently almost always changes gears in an effort to challenge himself and make his versatility known. He seems to have done the same in Jawan or we at least hope so, we see a hardcore cop, a trooper who might possibly also go rogue or has an alter ego who leads a battalion of women to charge and somewhere in between breaks in a jazzy little dance hinting at the complexities and darkness and light in the character with the way his aura changes. A possible psychological thriller?
We are sure excited for King Khan’s glory back on screens…well while also being a tad bit disappointed in not seeing the same on a big screen. What are your thoughts? Do you think it will break the records for his recently released Pathan too? We definitely think so! Jawan releases September 7th.
Feast your eyes with the prevue here!
