When a stand against domestic violence & sisterly love marked the week!
Week Ending: 8th May 2021
Firstly, I am so chuffed to receive all the feedback from SAAKK weekly reviews. I believe this has become a two-way street of exchange of sentiments and feedback from both sides. I love the acknowledgment and the response from the readers, however, I stand by my last review that unfortunately, the writers were not able to drive the story line the way we expected.
First thing first, I wish the lead actor, Karanvir Sharma a quick recovery. Certainly, all our prayers are with him, and undoubtedly, we missed him in this week’s episodes of SAAKK. However, if there is a correct way of managing an internal crisis then team SAAKK is assuredly on the right track! And this is what I meant by good writing. The writers were able to take the story in the right direction, while the rest of the team made that possible with their superb performances and directional skills.

As we missed seeing Shaurya on the screen, the focus was shifted to the Bhala sisters and their unrivalled bond. Primarily, it was good to see a female lead so focused on her career and ambitions. We simply adore Anokhi and she is a perfect example of a modern age woman who is not ready to compromise on her goals and whose zeal is unparalleled to another.

Moreover, we adore the strong bond both the sisters share; from supporting one another, to giving a scolding when needed and from time to time, becoming each other’s crime partners – assuredly, in this week’s episodes we were able to see all these shades. Then, the portrayal on the very sensitive topic of domestic abuse was very well handled. And all of this was summed up so well because of exceptional performances by the actresses Debattama Saha and Falaq Naaz who made us feel all sorts of emotions in each episode this week.
Personally, I really liked how they showed Bubbly di‘s character development and despite being physically and emotionally tortured she is not ready to leave her marriage just because log kya kahien ge. To which Anokhi’s response was priceless “logon ko kehne de jo kehna hai…wo teri liye maar kha kar jaien ge? Nehi na”. This is such an important message which is elucidated beautifully in a few words. We should learn to prioritize ourselves before thinking what others would say.
Well, as far as next week’s episodes are concerned I am eagerly waiting for our hero to make a comeback. However, I also hope that Bubbli’s track does not get side-lined and we get to see her growth as a person and how she gets out of her abusive relationship.
