The latest episode of Dunk Drama gave us some spectacular performances, drama, suspense and thrill. Did you watch it? Here’s a recap and our thoughts.

Despite audience response to Dunk – some have called out the creeping ‘at a snail’s pace’ story line, the overly dramatic sequences & the elongated silences as reason to stop watching, it seems that Dunk has managed to rope in the audiences yet again with the full on drama in the recent episode.

It could be said that this episode could have happened 3 episodes earlier, minus the blaring OST and stretched gazes as Amal & Haider stared into each other’s eyes, (and Minal contemplated confusion), but Dunk seems to have delivered right into the hands of all its critics. Finally, they get what they want, and because it’s a Pakistani drama, they just might discount the extra episodes that were added in to spice up the masala.

Speaking of masala, there was lots in this episode. From Haider’s eventual reveal (it took him about 20 episodes to do that), to Minal’s faceoff with his khandaan – but the crowds were appeased as team Haider & Minal came together to face Amal.

Of course, the viewers had to cheer them on!

So, whether we like it or not, call it the power of Bilal Abbas if you will, but Dunk from the very beginning, had us hooked to our screens, while we impatiently waited for the next episode. And this week, Dunk took it up a notch and belted out a mind-blowing episode. What do you think will happen next? Let’s see.

What we liked

Minal fighting for Haider & giving everyone a piece of her mind was the cherry on top!

Our thoughts

Though we are sad to see Haider’s father making this whole issue about zid. Was that really needed?

Abhi tuk we had been seeing toxic mothers & sisters, now Dunk is giving us a toxic father. Guess the role reversal has its roots in the entire plot – Men can be wronged (harassed) too, so why not let men be the toxic ones as well?

Amal’s decision to refuse to answer the college board & face police inquiry – is it a wise move or a move jo usko lay doobay ga? Some food for thought there! As you can see, fans want sweet revenge and Amal is up for the time of her life – if you get the sarcasm there!

Minaal & Haider ki joree is winning our hearts. This is the one audiences were rooting for. If anything, fans have taken the pairing of Bilal Abbas & Azekah Daniel with pure fan love! The two are exhibiting magic chemistry onscreen and we won’t be surprised if there are future contracts in the pipeline – when an onscreen couple hits stardust power – there’s no stopping them in Pak dramas!

Last but not the least, finally, Haider’s mom let go of her ‘Qasam‘ which we had been desperately waiting for. Though we do wish the scene was not so dramatic, it might have been more impactful then?

However drama is what makes the world go round in Dunk – and if you wanna watch it, you have to live the dramatics! That’s what Dunk is teaching us – so guess we have to play it their way!
