The Filmfare Middle East Achievers Awards were held at Dubai’s Meydan on the 28th of October. Glamour met celebrity power as the crème de la crème from Pakistan and India’s entertainment industry congregated to honour talent. Apart from numerous A-list Bollywood celebrities, the award show hosted numerous Pakistani actors as well – including Mahira Khan, Ayesha Omar, Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Ali and many more! From clicking selfies with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui (who was a favourite amongst Pakistani celebs) to rubbing shoulders with the best from the entertainment industry, a lot of fun was had. Mahira Khan bagged the ‘Superstar from Pakistan’ award, Sheheryar Munawar won the ‘Best Debutant Filmmaker’ award, Maya Ali was seen holding her ‘Rising Star’ award and lastly, our favourite duo – Sajal Ali and Ahad Raza Mir won ‘Best Performer Of The Year’ and ‘Best Actor New Generation’ respectively! We’re so proud of our celebrities and glad that they’re portraying a positive image of Pakistan. Kudos!

Abrar Ul Haq Unabashedly Rips Off Baby Shark & Makes It An Anthem For Misogyny

Dedicated to all those who are too much married… Yaani "Run Mureed".

On October 25th when Abrar Ul Haq released his song ‘Begum Shak Karti Hai’ starring Saba Qamar, Pakistanis assumed it was a spoof video. However, they soon realised they were very wrong to jump to conclusions. Abrar Ul Haq’s latest song seems “heavily” inspired by the very popular nursery rhyme ‘Baby Shark’. Not only is ‘Begum Shak Karti Hai’ unoriginal with its lyrics, but the plot of the music video seems very uninspired and you’re left wondering why anyone thought this was a good idea in the first place. It’s hard to believe that this song comes from the same man that brought us hits like ‘Nach Punjaban’, ‘Billo De Ghar, and ‘Bay Ja Cycle Tay’. Alas, that’s not all. While promoting the music video on Twitter, Abrar Ul Haq dedicated the song to all the “run mureeds” – men who unapologetically adore their wives, and somehow that’s a bad thing? To no one’s surprise, Pakistanis were not having any of his misogyny and took to Twitter to call him out. One user tweeted, ‘Only in Pakistan can misogyny be so intricately complex that a man could stretch a song about baby sharks and use it to justify his misogyny in so many colourful ways’, while another said that Abrar Ul Haq ‘should have retired when he had the chance this is just embarrassing on so many levels’.

Juhi Chawla Signs INR 100,000 Surety Bond For Aryan Khan

Mumbai | I'm just happy that it's all over and Aryan Khan will come home very soon. I think it's a big relief for everybody: Juhi Chawla outside Sessions Court pic.twitter.com/aqg3myTPak

— ANI (@ANI) October 29, 2021

Amidst news of Aryan Khan’s bail, it has been reported that actress Juhi Chawla signed a 1 lakh surety bond in Mumbai’s sessions court. Though Aryan Khan won’t be released today because the deadline to submit the bail document has been missed, the news was a relief for Aryan’s family and friends. As part of his bail, Aryan will have to surrender his passport and report to the NCB office every Friday. Juhi Chawla has known Aryan Khan since birth because of her professional ties with SRK and was relieved that he was going to come home soon after spending three weeks in jail and after his bail had been denied thrice. Aryan Khan had been arrested earlier this month for a ‘drugs on cruise’ charge.
