Another morning, another political fiasco taking Twitter by storm. Imran Khan’s latest comment on Maryam Nawaz has sparked a raging debate on Twitter. Some are defending IK by arguing that other politicians have also resorted to making personal remarks in the past, while some believe two wrongs don’t make a right. It is not uncommon to target women when two political parties at war can’t make sensible arguments against each other. PMLN leaders have been found doing so on multiple occasions as well. Following suit in his recent Multan Jalsa, Imran Khan made a distasteful personal comment on Maryam Nawaz and caused a frenzy on Twitter.

Imran Khan Comments On Maryam Nawaz’s Marital life
Imran Khan, in his Multan jalsa, called out Maryam Nawaz and advised her to focus on her married life as she obsessed about taking IK’s name in every jalsa of PMLN. However, this might seem like a normal everyday thing to say, but it came as a shock to youth that wholeheartedly supports IK.

On the contrary, Imran Khan has time & again faced numerous filthy comments from PMLN’s leaders. I don’t support what IK said today! But why is Maryam Nawaz holier then any other women? Why didn’t you tweet when Rana SanaUllah and Fazlur Rehman talked ill of women who attend PTI’s sit-ins? You don’t get to lecture anyone on morality when your own values are compromised.

You’d think Imran Khan’s supporters would at least have some shame to simply ignore what IK said about Maryam today. But no, they are not only defending but celebrating it. Imran Khan and his supporters find newer lows to stoop to every single say.
What IK said was in a bad taste. But probably we wouldn’t be here if someone had condemned the attacks on her wife and asked maryam to refrain from it. The abuse is a two way street one cant take it for all of the time and stay silent.
What Ik said about Maryam wasn’t good he shouldn’t have said that but wait who says “Pinki peerni” to Bushra Bibi? Who has nothing to do with politics, where was your morality then??
This is the lot that is the actual Nawaz cult! That has lost every sense of morality and objectivity in their hate and frustration about IK having public traction! What IK said was wrong and should not be defended in the same manner saying ghatya things to IKs wife! no ifs & buts.
Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Right
Women targeted by noon league: jemima, benazir, bushra bibi but none of them said anything now suddenly sab k andar ki aurat ki izzat jag gaya.
What IK said about maryam was unnecesary and wrong. But are the daughters and sisters of Shareef family respectable only? Not bushra bibi, sheerin mazari or murad saeed sisters? What a hypocrisy shown by these sold journalists.
I am neutral about Politics. But what IK said about Maryam Nawaz is really pathetic… Moral values and ethics should be held superior to political differences.
Pakistanis suddenly realizing women should be respected because what IK said about MNS. chalo isi bahane ppl maybe realize respecting women, give IK credit for that! p.s. personal attacks on women *and men* both should be condemned. IK has been consistently targeted by MNS.

Our Opinion
We believe that social, political, and professional disputes shouldn’t be based on one’s personal life. Regardless of gender or age, nobody has the right to throw dirt on someone else. If IK was offended by the bullying & personal attacks on him, he should’ve taken action differently rather than publicly humiliating a woman. Also, the supporters and facilitators of both parties should criticize opposing parties by using better words and refrain from derogatory remarks.
With that being said, justifying Imran Khan’s comment by quoting politicians from Noon League is just adding fuel to the fire. The supporters of Imran Khan expected better from him, hence, the disappointment. So, we reiterate that two wrongs don’t make a right.
