Pehchaan has us hooked to the story and now with Cookie’s return we wonder, did Adnan really cheat on her? We love how the drama unfolds the twists in the narrative, revealing the story in layers, and not giving away too much in one go – the execution of the script is engaging, and entertaining, leaves you curious, and wanting more.

What A Twist!
The most unexpected (and best) twist was Cookie resurfacing just when we least expected it.
We love how, without making us endure a tedious sequence of events or long-drawn kahani, the director Asad Jabal, hinted at the reason behind Cookie’s actions – well-directed and executed scenes in flashback mode made us curious about the identity of the lady whom Cookie had met and what exactly did she tell her? But meeting the lady doesn’t really confirm Adnan was cheating on Cookie, just as much as Cookie’s disappearance doesn’t mean that she was with another man?
The drama aptly depicts society’s ‘quick to judge’ reality – how we all jump to conclusions, especially regarding a woman’s character, without giving her a chance to explain.
The drama also unveils the swiftly changing attitudes of everyone other than our blood relations when things get tough. Cookie’s brother’s unwavering trust in her was uplifting and a breath of fresh air.
Pehchaan delivers a full narrative by shedding light on all parties affected by Cookie’s disappearance – the child characters portray the dilemma and mental torture that children undergo in such situations.
Praiseworthy Performances
Hiba Bukhari is turning out quite the performance from a calm, sober housewife with 2 kids to a young, vivacious girl, she is showing us she is in touch with the finer sensibilities of Cookie’s character. Syed Jibran is totally believable as the supportive husband-father and turns on the rage meter just at the right tempo once he’s about to lose it on Cookie, but tempers his reaction at the last moment. Mirza Zain Baig as Aziz is teasing us with full-on expression and oh we’re loving it – we want to see more, yet, the little we have seen left quite an impact on audiences. Huma Nawab aka Cookie’s mom and Qavi Khan as Cookie’s dad also portray believable responses as they struggle to comprehend their daughter’s actions, yet, refrain from casting a doubt on her. In fact, the entire cast is coming together to throw just the right shades!
It is but without doubt that we have to say, just like all the characters in the drama, we also wonder… Cookie Kahan Thee since the past 4 days after she landed in Pakistan? Give us your best guess!
