Soha’s sudden change of heart, Basit still failing to understand what he did wrong and Bano confronting Soha instead of telling Basit the truth just makes us wonder, are we watching all this drama for real? More importantly why are we still watching?
Habs Made Us Questions Storyline
Some dramas take off so well and we get invested in the story, only to regret later and wonder what really happened, whether there were two separate teams directing the same story? Habs is making us feel the same way. We really could not understand why Bano would approach Soha and not Basit?
Sudden Twists in Characters
Soha’s sudden change of heart, whether it was motivated by fear or honest and genuine remorse, was extremely unrealistic and diluted the impact of the entire scenario, especially since we couldn’t recognize any such possibility in Soha’s character.
Why can’t someone explain to Basit that it was wrong of him to keep a secret from Ayesha, and despite his remorse and apologies, his action was still wrong. Does this mean Basit’s character has not undergone any journey? He continues to fail at processing human emotions and relationships.
And is Ayesha justified in taking a stand and asking for divorce? Can’t she tell that maybe Basit still needs her guidance to understand that what he did was wrong? Or are we asking too much from Ayesha?
Final Word
This conflict between Ayesha and Basit which seems simple on the face of it, is acutely deep and reflective of many such issues that arise between couples. Addressing this issue could have been such a great point of conversation & maybe, helped serve as a guiding light for many, only if the drama had avoided unnecessary complications and sazishen.
