Confused about which foundation to settle for? L’Oreal True Match vs. Maybelline Fit Me – which one is better? Here’s an honest review from a makeup junkie.

Stepping into the makeup section can be very overwhelming at time. ‘What to buy? Which is better?’ Our minds are flooded with such questions. Especially when shopping for foundations, primers and BB creams. Will it suit our skin? That’s the million dollar question.
L’Oreal Paris True Match and Maybelline Fit Me foundations are some of the widely used and easily available products. Currently using both, here’s an honest opinion to help you decide which one to opt for. Let’s dive in.
1. L’Oreal Paris True Match

True match is one of the highly bought products from L’Oreal. I use shade 3.N Beige Creme/Creamy Beige, it comes in an easy to use bottle , allowing you to get as much as foundation you need. It has a smooth, radiant finish and is long lasting for the most part.
However, it does oxidize after some time, at times leaving your face looking a bit greasy. Also, the coverage is medium, so when opting for a heavy makeup look, you have to use it quite a bit of it for build up. It has particles which leave your skin with a glow, making it more suitable for those with dry or combination skin. Having combination skin, I use it occasionally, around the fall time or in winters as it helps keep the skin hydrated with a natural glow.
Tip: To avoid unwanted oxidization and greasiness, set the foundation with just a dash of setting powder and you’re good to go.
2. Maybelline Fit Me – Matte & Poreless

Shade 115 – That’s my shade for this one. It’s friendly for daily use, easy to apply, blend and set. Ideal for normal and oily skin as it’s formula is perfect to give your oily skin a matte finish. It’s suitable for combination skin too – win win situation.
It’s full coverage, yet lightweight, making it your best friend for the summer.
Unfortunately, Fit Me also oxidizes quickly on the skin, but a good primer and translucent powder do the trick.
The Verdict
Both are good in their own way, however, my verdict leans slightly towards Maybelline Fit Me. I have been using both on alternating days, so for me Fit Me suits well as it’s has more coverage, gives a matte finish which can be a tad bit difficult to get with oily or combination skin. Also, for those with dry skin, Fit Me also comes with another range to give you that dreamy dewy and smooth look.
L’Oreal Paris True Match is suitable for the evenings, giving you that radiant glow. Both have their own pros and cons, but I use them based on my skin texture and the makeup look I opt for.
Remember: This is a personal preference and differs from person to person. Skin type, finding the perfect match are elements that count too.
