The first look of the highly-anticipated drama, ‘Sang-e-Mah’ features the veteran actor Nauman Ijaz as Haji Marjaan Khan. It was announced on Momina Duraid Production’s official Instagram handle with a caption that read, “The Actor Whose Versatility, Skill And Artistry Knows No Bounds, Nauman Ijaz Will Be Seen In The Drama That Has Spread A Wave Of Excitement And Anticipation Across The Nation – Sang E Mah As Haji Marjaan Khan.”
We are loving Nauman Ijaz in a different avatar. If we go by our first impressions, his character as Haji Marjaan Khan reeks power and intensity. We are sure that he will, as always, deliver an impactful performance that will stay in our minds for a long time. Excitements levels are high and since the first character has been announced, fans are eagerly waiting for others to be unveiled. The project looks promising so keep an eye out for this one!
About Sang-e-Mah
Sang-e-Mah is written by Mustafa Afridi who also penned the very successful Ehd e Wafa. The drama is also directed by the highly celebrated Saife Hasan, also of Ehd e Wafa. With these two creative minds in the driving seat, fans can’t wait to catch the first episode! It is expected to air in January next year on HUM TV & under the umbrella of Momina Duraid Productions.
‘Sang-e-Mah’ is a sequel of ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar’ – which we all still love and cherish. Sang-e-Mah however, has a completed different story. Saife Hasan told FUCHSIA that we have not made a serial like ‘Sang-e-Mah‘ previously on Pakistani television. It is an “issue-based” story about Pashtun tribal areas. The story revolves around a long-standing tradition called “Ghagh” which means “Ailaan” in Urdu. The tradition involves forcing girls to marry men who have made an “announcement” or a “call” to marry them against the girls’ will.
Saife Hasan also revealed that this tradition unfortunately still stands in the present day. ‘Sang-e-Mah‘ aims to shed light on it as well as spread awareness about it. He also told us that it is a revenge story. Sounds intriguing, don’t you agree?
The Cast
‘Sang-e-Mah’ has a stellar cast and as many of us (who aren’t living under a rock) know, Atif Aslam will be making his TV debut in it. We will be seeing another newbie in the drama, Zaviyar Ejaz, who is Nauman Ijaz’s son (Dawn). It will be interesting to see this father-son duo together for the first time in a TV serial. We are currently watching Zaviyar on ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka.’ Hania Aamir will also be seen in the drama.
Apart from Atif Aslam, Zaviyar Ejaz, and Hania Aamir, the lead cast is the same as ‘Sang-e-Mar Mar’; Nauman Ijaz, Sania Saeed, Umair Rana, and Kubra Khan.
