Audiences are debating Aliya’s choices in men and how she is treating them. Last week’s episode was just the trailer to Aliya’s indecision choosing between the two potential suitors in her life. Twitter was locked in debate over the question of whether her actions were professional or not. While she enjoys the banter, coffee sessions with Salman on the one hand, she is also celebrating Azfar’s birthday on the other (and in intimate fashion), melting when she discovers evidence of Azfar’s hurtful past and the urge to rescue him from all the pain.
Was Salman’s proposal too premature and giving off insecure vibes or one of urgency/jealousy? Is Aliya unfair to be still undecided, unfair to be leading him on through mere coffee sessions, voice notes and a smile? UIs it unfair to Salman that she is is in the problematic pursuit of figuring the why’s and how’s of Azfar’s brokenness? Is she trying to erase the pain in Azfar’s life? Is she even deciding between the two or is she merely focused on her career for now? Furthermore, does Aliya not deserve the right to be able to be unapologetic about her decisions? And after all, all girls want somebody who gives them their space and doesn’t push them for commitment.
