The Legend Of Maula Jatt – October 13
The Legend of Maula Jatt is a contemporary take on the legendary rivalry between Maula Jatt and Noori Nath and is a remake of the 1979 Maula Jatt. Directed and produced by Bilal Lashari, it boasts a stellar cast of Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi, and Gohar Rasheed. It is a The film was initially set to release in 2020 however the pandemic and legal issues caused it to take a backseat however it finally got a release date for October 13th. Mahira took to her Instagram to introduce her character of Mukkho Jatti captioned “Don’t Think You All Are Prepared” which has sparked more curiosity among the masses about what she has in store for us. We will see her in a very different get up from what we are used to seeing her. The look even garnered praise from across the border by Hrithik Roshan, expressing his love for the look.
We will once again see the much loved of Mahira and Fawad Khan on our screens and it couldn’t get more exciting than this!
Tich Button – 28th October
Urwa Hocane is all set to mark her production debut alongside Jerjes Seja under the banner of ARY Films .It is a directorial venture of Qasim Ali Mureed. The movie which faced a setback during the pandemic is now all set to release on the 28th of October. Urwa unveiled a poster with a unique look of each character simultaneously announcing the release date. It is going to be interesting to see how the title resonates with the plot.
So far all we know is that this is going to be a rom-com sprinkled with some action, dance, music, and aesthetically pleasing backgrounds. Urwa has mentioned that the film is all about love and friendship. A trailer is yet to be released until then take a look at the teaser below:
Joyland – November 18th
Saim Sadiq’s directorial Joyland is one of the most anticipated releases of 2022. The film featuring Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan, and Sarwat Gilani revolves around a patriarchal middle-class family boy secretly joining a theatre and then falling in love with a fiercely ambitious trans dancer. It is produced by one of the biggest producers in the industry, Sarmad Khoosat. Sadiq took to Instagram to announce the release of Joyland in Pakistan by revealing a poster made by the acclaimed artist Salman Toor.
Joyland made waves internationally when it received a standing 8-minute ovation at the Cannes Film Festival which built incredible hype around it making it on the radar of many Pakistanis. What’s important to note here is the fact that the film is not about the men in fact its about the women who dare to dream in a society where they are constantly discouraged.
According to the director Saim Sadiq, the purpose of this movie was to be shown in Pakistan and its finally going to fullfill its purpose.
