There is a difference in convincing the audience subtly and manipulating them forcibly about certain characters or plot twists in Tere Bin. Sadly, in Meerab’s case, one is being manipulated into taking Murtasim’s side.

Murtasim’s Dilemma
It is OKAY if Murtasim goes alone with Haya to the farmhouse, but Meerab doesn’t get the same leverage. Murtasim should know how Haya conspires, and hence, understand that Rohail could also have done the same. Are we wrong in expecting this from Murtasim? More than his hurt ego, Murtasim is disappointed about Meerab staying silent, not denying anything or not taking his side. Given his feudal background, his ego and pride is hurt… but along with that, he is also extremely hurt by Meerab’s silence on the issue.
Is it really love or his male ego as Rohail said, that will not let Murtasim leave Meerab?
Wait A Minute, Is That Meerab?
Who is Meerab? Why is her character shown to be performing all the senseless actions that the Meerab whom we saw initially, would never do. Forget about Meerab, any girl going to a guy’s house, especially when no one else is there, is a simple and big NO. And why didn’t she deny or say anything at all when Rohail kept sharing his side of the story in front of Murtasim?
Very potent and mention-worthy dialogues from Waqas to show Meerab what she really means to Murtasim:“Tum usky liye uski zindagi, uski gairat ,uski izzat sai barh kar he hogi beta.”
It was a heart-touching moment when Meerab’s mother clarified the reason for removing her pictures. But Meerab doesn’t seem to buy any emotional explanation. Is she justified in this reaction?
Better Storytelling?
On a lighter note, Rohail bhai, you could have used at least half the wall or a scrap book instead of showing that white board to Meerab. How can you expect her to take you seriously? And Saba dear, aap jaisee dost to Allah kisi ko na dey… why would you speak to Rohail on speaker phone in front of Murtasim?
A note to the Taxi guy: Kidnappers will not tell you if they have come to kidnap you… we couldn’t stop laughing.
