Or Should Dawood Have Decided To Part Ways?
Unfortunately, it took a harsh decision from Dawood to make Kim realize certain things. We wonder why the script of Yunhi had to show Kim to be this obstinate. Maybe the absence of a mother in Kim’s life led her to be unaware or ill equipped to handle certain situations in life, especially those related to relationships.
Kim’s Sense Of Self & Commitment
It was sad to see that despite Dawood clearly requesting her multiple times to not meet George, Kim still went ahead and met him in the name of fulfilling her commitment. Well, perhaps what Kim missed was the crucial point that a marriage is a bigger commitment than any other relationship. By virtue of which she should give a fair amount of respect and due attention to what her partner is requesting from her, especially when he is not imposing his decision or demanding something completely illogical.
Should Dawood Have Decided To Part Ways?
We didn’t think Dawood would actually take the decision to part ways with Kim. Do you think Kim left no choice for him but to do this? He finally lost all hope. His words were heavy but spoke his truth – that his love failed to make her connect with him or at least respect his wishes. Appreciation for the drama to show how, if two people are unable to be flexible in a relationship, they can politely and amicably part ways.
Kim & Razia Bonding Finally
A beautiful scene in Yunhi between Kim and Razia, as Kim finally calls her “Ami”. The expression was uttered on impulse by Kim, which made it even more endearing as it seemed entirely unforced or contrived. It is lovely to note that Razia is not a toxic character, she is good at heart and melts instantly as she observes that Kim is really tortured by something.
Kim’s conversation with Razia revealed a very important fact that perhaps, could have been highlighted earlier in Yunhi – there are many things Kim isn’t aware of, or she doesn’t know how to respond to, in certain situations, because she didn’t have a mother or a mother figure in her life to guide her, to show her the path or be there for her to ask advice.
Growing Up With A Single Parent & No Extended Family As Role Models
Perhaps because Kim did not grow up seeing a relationship of “give and take” between her parents, her mother being absent in her life, her sense of what is right and wrong stems from her own experiences entirely. Even if she had seen a relationship up close between a married sibling or friend or an older relative while growing up, she might have been more flexible about her own stance in a marriage. This message might have helped explain Kim’s decisions in a better light.
Kim doesn’t have someone she can confide in, with whom she can share the confusions or questions in her mind or give her answers. With her father not being present in this tricky moment of her life, where she needed advice from someone she trusts, she became further isolated and maybe that is the reason she was trying to find a friend or a guiding figure in Zulfi. A mother might have guided her to handle this entire situation in a different way.
But at the end of the day, should Dawood have decided to part ways in all finality? What else could he have done to repair the situation? Tell us what you think in comments below. Finally, a very enlightening (and non-preachy) conversation between Dawood and Daniyal, highlighting the importance of taking the right path and not just short cuts.
