“Woh Ghar Walay Jo Apni Beti Ki Pasand Aur Uski Rai Ko Ahmiat Na Dein, Unkay Baray Mein Kiya Khayal Hai?” – Yunhi

Will Kim’s character manage to change mindsets in society as well as Dawood’s?
Kim-Dawood Conversations
A beautiful conversation between Dawood and Suraiya which highlighted both sides. Though Dawood is right – you can’t trust guys who ask you to run away, Owais did want to send his proposal to Suriya’s house initially. So maybe he should have given it some time to establish himself first. Yes, when you run away with a guy, you never know his true intentions, or if he was only trying to take advantage of you.
Dawood Needed To Try Harder
Dawood’s attempt to convince Dada Jaan should have been stronger. We wonder why he couldn’t put his foot down and say that, as her brother, I refuse to let her get married against her wishes? Basharat sahib couldn’t say anything in favor of Suraiya; firstly, because of his respect for his own father and now, he must feel obligated because his father is helping him financially with his business loss. So how can he go against him?
Dawood’s dialogue that Suraiya will become like Iqbal phuppo if she marries Hamid, was a painful thought. (And unfortunate that Iqbal is perceived in this light – leading a life no one would want to exemplify).
Rebel Kim!
Interesting to see Kim almost changed into eastern clothes, just before recalling how Razia had instructed her, and then she chooses to go for a western outfit. Seems like that was an act of rebellion against Razia and her forever objection to Kim’s clothes. Ironic how Suraiya, Razia’s own daughter, despite wearing shalwar kameez, is doing something which might be questionable for many.
Mudasir’s True Colors
Mudasir’s latest demands to settle his son in America will prove that even Dada Jaan’s choice was not correct for Suraiya. Is Kim doubting Dawood? That he is in this marriage with an aim to settle down in America?
Nikah Conversations
Interesting to see the meher conversation in Yunhi resurface as Dawood tries to speak for his sister, his dada censures him not to mix family tradition with Faith. The narrative, once more, highlighted how we like to pick and choose our religious preferences. We bring up Islam where we need it, but not where it doesn’t serve our purpose.
Will Kim question why her father gave money to Basharat? Will Dawood react to this news? Tell us what you think as Kim prepares to exit Pakistan soon.
