Mahira Khan – the woman who has made the whole nation proud more than a handful of times never fails to pull out a new trick from a (very new) hat every now and then! This iron lady has rocked the party one too many times, and continues to do so! And why shouldn’t she? She IS MAHIRA KHAN – after all? So why let the lockdown slow her down (of course, that doesn’t mean she’s not observing SOPs, just that her BTS (behind the scenes act) is a bit sharper than ours!
So while we were (ahem) sleeping? She took on new projects and diversified her selection of work.
We bring you 4 things that Mahira Khan has done while we were in lockdown:
1. Baarwan Khiladi- Mahira Khan’s debut as a producer
Mahira Khan is all set to work behind the camera and prove her mantle as a producer. She would be co-producing with Nina Kashif. Baarwan Khiladi will be a web series which is penned by Shahid Dogar who has also written Abdullah Pur Ka Devdas – a romantic story to be streamed on Zee5 starring Sarah Khan, Anoushay Abbasi & Bilal Abbas Khan. The web series is directed by Adnan Sarwar.
The ensemble cast includes Danyal Zafar, Kinza Hashmi, Shahveer Jafry, Khaqan Shahnawaz, Zarrar Khan among others.

Psssst – But she ain’t stopping there folks!
2. TU – Mahira Khan’s Eid track with Azaan Sami Khan
Mahira takes the party in front of the lens too – just signature Mahira style? Both the Khan’s are on a roll this year and both have collaborated for a project together! Mahira Khan is all set to appear in Azaan Sami Khan’s music video, TU, directed by Hassan Dawar, and is all set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr.
Azaan has announced his debut album this year which consists of 9 new songs; Maahiya, Dholna, Mein Tera, Jaadugari, Aashiqui, Ik Lamha, Meri Sajna Re feat. Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zama, and Tu. The first release of the album, Main Tera met with great appreciation and has currently crossed 5 million views on YouTube.
Audiences are anticipating that the two Khan’s will come together to shake a leg or two.

3. Yaar Julahay- Mahira’s appearance for ZEE series:
Mahira Khan is all set to work across the border – we expect, the first time after her release of the film Raees. Mahira will be performing a theatrical reading in a 12-part series, Yaar Julahay to be be aired on 15th May. She will be reading Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi’s classic, Guriya and the show will be directed by Sarmad Khoosat. The show will also feature appearances from Sarwat Gilani, Nimra Bucha, Yasra Rizvi, Fawad Khan, Sania Saeed, Irfan Khoosat, Samiya Mumtaz, and Faisal Qureshi.
Guriya is a story about two friends, Mehra and Bano. Bano has a doll which is despised by Mehra. Despite the fact that the doll resembles Mehra, she does not like it, especially as Bano’s fondness for the doll grows. However, the story has a twist in the end. We have to wait to catch up with what really transpires! And definitely a long wait it is!
This one’s coming to you on 15th. May

4. Always Azad- Mahira’s campaign
Along with her professional attitude towards her work, Mahira has never stepped down from speaking up about social issues or spreading awareness by using her voice. She has actively spoken for women rights and she has also worked with UNHCR to raise her voice for refugees. This time she has joined in a campaign with Always to take the initiative to help school girls of Pakistan who skip school when on their periods. This is a great initiative to spread awareness and also remove the taboo associated with women and periods.
Mahira Khan – we aspire to be just a little bit of you – to express ourselves in multiple dimensions, and each expression, to speak of the myriad conversations that must be initiated, continued and, carried forward!
Carry on girl – we wish her luck for every new venture she pursues!
Note: Mahira also battled Covid in these lockdown times, yet continued with her work once she recovered her health!
