If asked to give the first afterthought that came to our minds after seeing the teaser, we’d say that it was exceptional. We literally had goosebumps. The almost three-minute teaser took us on a ride of a roller coaster of emotions. We certainly felt our heart pounding as we tried to register all the emotions in under 3 minutes of watch time!
The teaser launches into a parallel narrative of war at the borders and two families enjoying a very relatable family moment while watching perhaps, one of the most awaited cricket matches of the year- between Pakistan and India. However, inevitable adversity hits on both sides of the borders when news of their loved ones’ demise reaches their ears.
Honestly, that moment gave us a few chills. We cannot lie that we felt our eyes water, holding back a tear or two. Sajal and Ahad, including the rest of the very formidable cast members, made us travel from our couches to their world which was very obviously shaken by tragedy.
Dhoop Ki Deewar is a story of Vishal and Sara who are separated by generations of rivalry but brought together because of grief and willingness to seek the truth. The story unveils as the paths of Sara, a Pakistani girl and Vishal, an Indian boy crosses paths after they both lose their fathers due to cross border attacks in Kashmir. Sara and Vishal, adamant to keep their fathers’ legacy alive yet bot, at opposing sides of the broder.
As they both struggle to praise their father’s heroic acts, they soon realize that they both have the same grief to mourn for. Both Vishal and Sara join hands to eliminate this hatred that only has and will result in destruction and calamity. On their journey to put an end to years of hatred and mistrust, they both have to overcome many obstacles, starting with their own families. But will their love be able to make a difference? Will they be able to join forces to fight what seems like an impossible battle to win?
The rivalry between India and Pakistan has only brought destruction at both ends. Unfortunately, people on both sides of the border have witnessed unimaginable grief and have gone through indescribable pain. Kudos to Zee5 for taking the initiative to use social media as a platform to highlight this. We are eagerly anticipating our favourite couple, Sajal and Ahad light up the screen once again along with other cast members which include, Samiya Mumtaz as Ahad’s mother and Zaib Rehman as Ahad’s grandmother. Also, Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai will be playing the role of Sajal’s grandparents. Others in the cast include Savera Nadeem as Sajal’s mother, Adnan Jafar, Raza Talish, Paras Masroor and others.
