“To be or not to be” – Laapata uses Shakespeare’s Hamlet’s soliloquy admirably. But are we as an audience, ready to understand the multiple underlying meanings and depth in this scene? Moreover, what a mind-blowing performance from Gohar Rasheed. A huge round of applause for him. We can feel the creepiness of Daniyal and already fear his next move!

We all kept blaming Daniyal, lekin asal fasaad ki jar to Munira nikli

We finally find out the backstory of Daniyal and what had really happened, though the story could have been slightly better executed, e.g.: why was the lawyer putting on that necklace on Aliya if he had only come to get the papers signed, or was it a figment of Daniyal’s imagination? And since Daniyal’s first wife was not really cheating on him, why is he so sensitive about it, and completely flipping on Falak?

Moreover, Munira (the maid) hitting Daniyal caught us completely off guard. What a twist… Laapata is not letting you go anywhere with fast-paced, intriguing and unexpected developments!

While we were quite excited about Daniyal being hit by Munira, hoping to watch a suspense thriller, but why oh why Falak did you leave your phone on the ground? Falak jee isi liyay to hum keh rehay thay kay phone lay ker aatee. Phone toota tha, sim to kisi aur phone main bhi lug jatee. Plus, why wouldn’t you call your parents first thing? Is it time for Falak to become Laapata?

Interesting move by Shams, but is he underestimating the union leader? Plus, why didi Shams Bhai have to be rude to Geeti after saying yes to the marriage? Ab agar mangni kee hai to nibhao...

What We Loved

“Auraton ko ghar mein qaid karney key bajaye mardon ko samjhane ki zaroorat hai”

Laapata does a creditable job at communicating this important message as a reminder to viewers. It was delivered subtly yet impactfully so there was no way we’d miss it!

Falak jee yeh her waqt Shams ki aur aap ki picture ghar main her juga kiyon paree hotee hai. Ab to Daniyal kay saath saath hum bhi zara apna patience lose ker rehay hain.

Both Shams and Daniyal are strong characters and entertain us on screen. It will be an interesting moment when they finally come face to face.
