Madhubala, Meenakumari & Madhuri – Mahira sees the oomph factor in these screen Godesses and can’t imagine why they would ever have to visit the gym. A candle, a diary and some flowers in a vase – that’s Mahira for you in a nutshell. dare you expect her to pump iron? You’re not reading her right, go find a classical song she can sway to, while curled up with a book, and you might have a foot in the door!

3. What Happens When Mahira Falls?
Yes of course, we all fall down, just like we give hope. You fall many, many, many times. Sometimes it’s an apparent fall, like Verna getting bombed, and sometimes other stuff comes out, and the whole world is watching, and sometimes there are personal falls I can’t talk about, explains Mahira, philosophically.
What good will it be if I talk about very serious, personal issues. Maybe one day, in a book, I can write, but right now, I’m not that brave.

4. Would She Accept Another Film With Shahrukh Khan?
Another project in Bollywood? No, says Mahira. With SRK? Maybe? She remains non committal. Sometimes you want to tap something different inside yourself, you want to do projects like Prince Charming or Churails. “But it’s very tricky”, she opines, looking in the distance. Is it really worth the storm that’s cooked up?
If I do something really small with an Indian channel, I don’t know what happens. People are okay with all others working in an Indian series, but not me… I wish we were making stories on a platform that is here, (in Pakistan)

5. Mahira Wrote A Will For Her Son When She had Covid
She was worried about her health, and felt she must put it down in writing. She wrote out her wish for him on her phone.
I wish my son to be a brave man, brave in a way that he speaks the truth, even at the cost of himself. I wish for him to be a kind man, but not at the cost of himself.
