Hierarchy amongst siblings is a matter not to EVER be taken lightly. The eldest feels he’s never got away with anything but believes he got the maximum affection, too much(?) from doting parents, the youngest admits having it easy on the rules, but protests against the perpetual (over) protectiveness from older siblings. The middle, oh well, the middle either feels he’s always been cheated on for affection or, has reached a place of nirvana (after looking at how the other two turned out).
Jokes apart. I’m going to talk about the youngest because that’s me!

The youngest sibling always has a group of loyal besties she wouldn’t trade for life! She holidays with them, shares her deepest fears & triumphs, bonds with them like extended family.
She needs her space because she’s always had it. The others moved out after marriage, remember? She confides in friends her age often (because she fears the possessive older sibling streak) of caring (& controlling) too much when giving advice.
She would rather leave them to handle the ‘bigger’ family issues – inheritance, parents’ health, or family feuds. She’s there for the asking but she wouldn’t dream of meddling unless specifically asked to do so, because that means, listening to everyone, (which her defiant youngest sibling self doesn’t quite gel with). She’s a tad selfish, yeah, but all for the common good. She believes in a live and let live philosophy… because she’s not very good at taking advice.
Don’t blame her, she’s had it rough with older ones constantly telling her, “I’ve been through this, I know better” – yeah, quite the rebel soul there! But she wouldn’t hurt her siblings knowingly, she probably doesn’t want them to feel hurt when she doesn’t follow their advice (which is why often, she doesn’t ask for it) problem solved?
Can You Relate?
We have reasons why we behave the way we do. Our lives are shaped by the actions that gained us success, a measure of happiness, & perhaps, peace. Yeah, the youngest are often the most loved, cherished, spoilt, pampered of the lot & they don’t deny it! They are also the most loving. Do you agree?
