5 months into 2022 and we’re already seeing the revival of cinema and the thrill of the cinematic experience. The latest release has been Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and with Eid the Pakistani entertainment industry has seen Ghabrana Nahi Hai, Parde Mein Rehne Do, Dum Mastam and many more.
With that being said, there are more films to come this year and many of them have us ecstatic for all the right reasons. Here are 5 upcoming movies all set to hit the screens this year. Top Gun, Avatar and more!
Hollywood’s Game-Changers
1. Top Gun: Maverick
The forever young Tom Cruise, has reprised the role of Lt. Pete ‘Maverick’ after nearly 36 years as the film is a sequel to Top Gun (released 1986). The sequel will see Maverick training graduates for an assignment, the advancements in character and appointment in the aviation and how the past will affect him.
The film is set for a worldwide release on 27th May, right after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
2. Avatar – The Way Of Water
Avatar ruled the box office and made a whopping 2.847 billion USD at the box office.
Avatar: The Way Of The Water takes us back to the Pandora, where we see Jake Sully (played by Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (played by Zoe Saldana) exploring the region and amidst all that, face an unforeseen war. What will happen next? We’ll have to wait and watch!
The official release date is 16th December, 2022. Just a few more months to go!
3. Creed III
This will be the third installment of the Creed movies, which stars Michael B. Jordan (as Adonis Creed), Tessa Thompson (as Bianca) and Hollywood’s finest, Sylvester Stallone (as Rocky Bilboa).
The film will see Adonis following his father’s footsteps and defend his name, as he’s pushed into a fight with a challenge greater than before.
The release date is 23rd November. Will you be watching it?
Bollywood Releases
1. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
Classical horror/comedy genre is back with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2! Kartik Aryan, Tabu and Kiara Advani are in the leads in this one and the trailer already has us excited.
Talking to the ghosts and living through them? We’re excited to go on this adventure Kartik Aryan is all set to take us on. Plus, the film soundtrack has taken us back to the good old days and reminded us of Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Will the old school charm be there? We’ll have to wait till the 20th of May to find out!
2. Laal Singh Chaddha
Laal Singh Chaddha, you could say is Bollywood’s rendition of Forrest Gump. First love, life and the bittersweet moments in between are what we’re waiting to see.
On the other hand, we get to see Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor share the screen after a long time. We loved them in 3 idiots and are surely excited to see them back together. The film is set to hit the theaters in 11th August 2022.
