Take a bow Yunhi for advocating women’s rights, many plights that are undermined by assumptions made out of love and care, many feelings that are completely ignored or unrecognized, in a sweet and non-preachy way that makes one think about it and hopefully change one’s mindset.
What Women Want
It was a lovely episode as we saw Kim accepting Dawood’s care and affection without a spoken “Yes”. But we question for how long she will continue denying her own feelings or ignoring Dawood’s honest and heart winning gestures. Yunhi recognized the need for women to be appreciated, to be heard and most importantly, taken care of in these small yet touching ways.
Daniyal’s Journey – Finally!
We saw Daniyal finally moving in a positive direction by not just returning the phone to Suriya but also telling her that if she ever faces any such issue in future, she will discuss it with him. Wow Daniyaal… we are impressed. Yunhi recognized that if you let your daughters and sisters know that they are trusted, they will respect it and it might save them from making a grave mistake.
A Woman’s Choice & Consent
Dada and Dawood’s conversation where Dawood clarifies Iqbal’s emotions and her possible reactions, most importantly, the fact that her consent must be taken in her life decisions, was a sixer by Yunhi – calling out to all those family members and elders who might be taking some decision, thinking they are actually doing the best for their daughters or sisters, but they might not be. Deconstructing the significance of a woman’s emotions as a human being who must be granted a choice, was the most endearing thing. Yunhi recognized all the emotions, all the silent pleas of many women like Iqbal.
Will Dawood and Kim manage to bring Zulfi and Iqbal together? Dawood finally tells Kim the nose pin suits her. Razia lovingly asking Kim if she needed anything was another beautiful moment, reinforcing positive mothers in law. Dawood is our true hero; he also manages to convince Kim to speak to her father.
