An uplifting episode by Yunhi that not only made us applaud the triumphs of the characters that we have been feeling for, but also gave us some progressive dialogues.

Yunhi Shows The Light
In the world of Pakistani dramas, where content is often compromised on so many levels, narratives like Yunhi not only give us hope, but they also shine a guiding light on how dramas can help change mindsets, give life changing thoughts and ideologies to viewers and also up the game on many levels.
Yunhi deserves an ovation for incorporating themes, like “Beti zimadari hai, bojh nahin” (though this phrase can also be improved, but at least it is a step forward), and baap beti ka rishta…
The drama poses a very important question: if a girl likes someone and meets him, how is she ruining the honor of the family when the same behavior between cousins is exempt from the burden of honor and doing the right thing?
A Father’s Journey
Basharat’s journey was very moving. We had tears in our eyes when he admits his fault as a father, the failure of our society to allow a girl to share her feelings with her elders, especially the father, and gives Suriya the confidence that she can trust him with her thoughts.
Yunhi showed poignantly, that if Suriya was not completely right in her actions, Dada’s decision was also not the right one. All Suriya needs is time and the freedom to spread her wings, to gain education and be informed enough to make better decisions. And the elders of the family must give her that freedom.
Kim Disappoints But Is She In Love?
Ah Kim, why are you not believing Dawood when he said he doesn’t want to go to America? Don’t you know him by now? And when Dawood believes you, (and takes on the entire household), then why would you not trust him and believe what he is saying? It was also frustrating to see Dawood not clarifying her assumption.
We wish his role was depicted slightly better or more forcefully in this beautifully scripted drama, rather than going the typical route of a forced misunderstanding.
But interestingly Kim, instead of reacting and saying she won’t let him use her, tells him that she will help him settle in America, if that is what he wants. Kiya Kim kay dil mein “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” start ho gaya hai ?
Dada Jaan & Daniyal Need A Journey
Sadly, Dada Jaan and Daniyal are two characters who fail to grow and realize their mistakes. Dada Jaan just wants to get Suriya married and prove a point. Daniyal is selfish and just wants to sacrifice Suriya for his own marriage.

Husna we are loving your thought process. So many girls are bound in “Khamakhuwan ki mohabbat” and end up compromising when they can make better life choices. Last but not the least, Yunhi talks about dowry and demands from “larkay walay”. How marriages are still more like a trade between two families rather than a beautiful bond between two people.
