Week Ending: 3 July 2021
This week ought to be special for all the SAAKHI fans who saw their favourite couple say “I do” and officially tie the knot. We were teary eyed, emotional, happy and excited! It seemed that we were part of the whole process. Not only was this wedding great but also unique. Never did a I enjoy the wedding sequence of a show more than this one! And it was not primarily because of our love birds but also due to the brilliant writing and execution.

They managed to capture the real essence of any wedding and present it in a refreshing manner. Firstly, wedding in a college? We are all in for it! I mean this could only happen at our SAAKHI’s wedding! The wedding in the college didn’t only carry uniqueness to the entire wedding sequence but it was also symbolic to their relationship which started in that college. We might not expect this in real life but as said before, we don’t mind that magical touch of fantasy.

Shaurya and Anokhi both complimented one another and gave us some major couple goals! They were the perfect traditional-modern couple (if that makes sense) who truly appreciate their partner and were willing to do anything to make their wedding day perfect for one another. From the way they first looked at each other after they were declared husband and wife, and said ‘I do’, to the part where they sat exhausted on stage was the perfect sprinkling of realism which I am sure most couples would have related!

What else did we love?
In addition, what we love was all the nok jhok and simultaneously, the support they received from their families. From Bubbli di consoling Anokhi and being there for her as a supportive sister to Kanchan teasing the new couple, made our day! And how can we forget Astha and Shaan! They gave us some classic romance vibes and we so wish that Astha once again joins her family.
Shaurya and Anokhi ki Kahani has once again managed to add the element of distinctiveness. As the wedding commenced we saw Anokhi questioning the customs whose purpose might seem vague. We are glad that she performed the rasam of throwing the rice anyway. Personally, we think it was well-executed and did not hurt the sentiments of any school of thought. At the end of the day Anokhi did carry on with the customs as a sign of respect but also highlighted how the ideology behind it may be wrong – a heart-warming balance, if we might add.
In addition, Anokhi breaking the barriers by standing up for her saas and herself was commendable. The dialogue, ‘hamari ghar mein aurtein sirf khana khani ki liye mun kholti hain‘ was disturbing on many levels. It is high time that such frames of minds are altered. A woman’s decision to be a housewife or have a career for herself makes her in no way a weak or irresponsible person but the ideology of not giving women that choice demands to be changed.
We can expect from the upcoming episodes that Anokhi will be standing up for her rights to peruse a career and education. We are looking forward forto she will manage in the Sabherwal house. Till then let’s have a look at this week’s tweets:
So true for them!
Can’t deny that we love that scene!
But who says it’s late to have him now?
How stunning they both looked at the reception!
Tweets dedicated to our favourite Shaan family – these four are adorable!
We really adore and appreciate how they always show that Shaurya has Anokhi’s back! The way he is always there for her is commendable!
We’re so happy they officially said ‘I do’!
The best selfie ever taken!
The Bhalla sisters rock!
It is refreshing to see two sisters having each other’s back rather than pulling one another down.
