Young couples have a drama they can finally relate to. Ishq E Laa is handing out relationship tips in bite-sized chunks & we’re loving it!
From learning how to share your life with your significant other, to standing your ground on issues close to your heart, to understanding that sometimes, all the other person wants is to be with you – Love has many faces, and new relationship blues are part of the deal.

Who Did You Relate With More?

Sajal Aly as Shanaya is resonating with so many young girls who are independent, career-oriented, yet totally invested in their relationships. Azlaan & Shanaya’s post-honeymoon blues depict the story of countless couples across the globe.
Did you find yourself nodding your head when Shanaya stood her ground with Azlaan, yet, attempted to pacify him by holding his hand? Or were you team Azlaan who identified with the silent treatment, the sulking & the unanswered calls?
Professor Rehman delivered the voice of reason & understanding as he explains it in one simple word – Love. It is hard for young couples to distinguish between possessiveness, dominating behavior & just plain old love in today’s uber complicated world.
Where relationship goals are fed to us on social media & perfect couples walk hand in hand, never arguing or fighting, it’s, in a way, a magic relief to see Shanaya & Azlaan in the ‘normal’ zone…Yeah, we argue…that’s what couples do. But then, we make up too.
Ishq-E-Laa is teaching us how, but with a naturalness that is so relatable, and without any overly sweet, unreal makeup scenes.
Some Notable Performances!

The episode review is incomplete without mentioning Sohail Sameer & Uzma Hassan – what a class act really! Both actors come together to execute super chemistry. Their scenes, whether full of rage or affection, pull in the viewers, leaving us completely mesmerized, almost trance-like – such is the power of their performance.
Adnan Samad Khan as Abid absolutely nailed it in the fight scene with Sultan – who was just gold himself! The fury, the rage & anger unleashed by Sultan was so palpable, you almost shivered across the screen, watching from your living room.
Azan Sami Khan is warming up as Azlaan, though a bit more ‘expression work’ could do wonders. Nevertheless, he is able to hold his own with Sajal across from him – that alone says a lot about his debut role.

Ishq E Laa continues to intrigue, with Azka’s story moving forward gradually. Although we have a niggling fear about Abid’s sinister designs on her.

Lastly, it is so refreshing to see young female leads aspiring to take up serious career goals. Also, depicting a young couple, both totally invested in their career, yet attempting to give it their all in a relationship, shows us the trials of millennial married life as well as the rewards that come with it.
The OST is love and on repeat on our playlist. Azaan’s vocals & the visual experience of green landscapes, mountains & bonfire came together to create wonderfully lyrical moments onscreen.
Ishq E Laa is giving us many firsts & the episode next should be an engaging watch! Till then, watch our latest Drama Gup here:
