A case that shook the entire nation has unfortunately turned into a blame game. There are a lot of conjectures about the ‘Minar-e-Pakistan’ incident making rounds on social media but, we are sticking to the facts! Here is everything that has happened in the Ayesha Akram case up till now and why #ayeshaakramexposed trended on Twitter this week!
About The Incident
The Ayesha Akram Case, more commonly known as the ‘Minar-e-Pakistan incident‘ first came to light when several videos of hundreds of men sexually harassing a woman in Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park started surfacing on the internet. Naturally, the videos caused a stir in the media and the people were horrified. Lahore police were quick to take action and lodged an FIR against approximately 400 unidentified men and several arrests were made!
According to Ayesha Akram, a famous Tiktoker, she was accompanied by 6 other people at the park where they had gone to make Tiktok videos. While doing so, hundreds of people allegedly attacked them. Her colleagues tried to save her but the crowd was overwhelmingly large and it was close to impossible to get her out.
Without getting too much into the details of the videos, it could be seen that her clothes were being stripped off of her and she was being pulled on from every direction, leaving no space for her to escape.
The incident soon started attracting more and more attention along with a lot of conjecture and criticism. Many criticized Ayesha Akram for posting Tiktok videos of herself after the incident, some called her a liar and “unbothered” by the whole incident, many even accused her and her colleague, Rambo, who was with her when the incident occurred, of orchestrating the entire incident.
A debate was sparked on social media wherein there were those who believed that Ayesha had planned it all and she called those people there herself, while others, especially women, came out in her defence and urged everyone to show some sensitivity towards the victim who had just gone through a traumatic experience. She gave her first interview to Yasir Shami and Iqrar ul Hassan and since then, she has appeared in several interviews and been very vocal about everything that has happened.
Arrests Were Made
Close to 100 suspects related to the incident were released after Ayesha was unable to identify them. However, in a recent turn of events, earlier this month, Ayesha Akram gave a written statement to the police wherein she reported the names of 13 people including Rambo’s. This came as a shocker to many.
According to her, Rambo along with his colleagues had been blackmailing her for the past three years on the basis of her alleged nude videos from the incident. She further added that he and his associates would extort money from her and take half her salary.
As a result of Ayesha’s statement, the police claims to have arrested 8 suspects including her colleague Rambo. Just recently three more people were arrested, making the total number of arrests 11.
The Leaked Audio Clip Of Ayesha Akram And Rambo!
If you thought this case couldn’t get any more complex, you were wrong. Here’s the real twist!
An audio clip has recently surfaced in which both Ayesha and Rambo are allegedly heard planning to extort money from the (arrested) suspects involved in the case. In the audio clip, Rambo can be heard asking Ayesha the total number of suspects arrested to which she answers six. He says they won’t be able to pay as much because most of them seem poor. Ayesha agrees and says they will barely get half a million rupees from each suspect.
Wait, there’s more! Another audio clip was discovered in which Rambo is allegedly blackmailing Ayesha and threatening to leak her intimate photos and videos. He sounds distressed and can be heard blaming Ayesha for ruining him. Ayesha has also gone to the FIA to report Rambo and his accomplices for allegedly leaking her intimate videos.
Lahore police are yet to make an official statement about the audio clips. They will conduct a thorough forensic analysis of the audio clips before confirming or denying anything.
Twitter Reacts To The Audioclips
Twitteratis lost their cool after the audio clips were discovered. #ayeshaakramexposed started trending on Twitter. People have started name-calling both Ayesha and Rambo, calling them liars, fake, and several other vile things. “Cunning woman and cunning man. Punish them both severely,” wrote a Twitter user.
While many others are angry at Yasir Shami and Iqra ul Hassan for “supporting” liars. People are also finding humour in this and several memes have been floating around on Twitter regarding the situation.
Since then, Iqrar ul Hassan has come out with a video apology for supporting Ayesha Akram, clarifying his intentions behind the interview and, denying any involvement in this case.
And of course, we just HAVE to bring feminism everywhere, right? God forbid we actually try to understand what it stands for.
This is still a developing story. What do you think about the case? Let us know in the comments!
