The trailer is out folks, and Khel Khel Mein makers are telling us that this one is going to hit a bit too close to home.

Khel Khel Mein Trailer Drop Promises To be An Intense Watch!

The movie will resonate with the youth & hopefully seek to resolve issues.
From Bangladesh to Baluchistan, the trailer is touching on all raw nerves, not mincing words and definitely not coming slow! Is the film planning to rake up the demons of the past or reaching out to forge a reunion – a conciliation of sorts?
With superstars Bilal Abbas Khan & Sajal Aly coming together and with Nabeel Qureshi & Fizza Ali Meerza of Na Maloom Afraad, Actor In Law, Load Wedding & more in the driving seat, we have a promising watch! The Filmwala filmmaking pair has an eye for comedy as well as cutting-edge production. Khel Khel Mein however, does not promise a comic watch. Although the song is giving us fun vibes – don’t be fooled into thinking this is a light number!
Be Different & Creative By Being Controversial!

Is our youth guilty of pushing controversy in an effort to be different or are they genuinely interested in relearning the narrative and highlighting issues close to their hearts – issues they have often heard addressed in a narrative they do not relate to?
In an age of click-bait reporting & content, it is easy to blame youth for jumping on the publicity bandwagon, being too outspoken, or overtly vocal on topics that are considered taboo in educational institutions – namely Bangladesh, India & now, Baluchistan.
But the writer-director team seems to have their pulse on the lifeline as they navigate their way strategically through a narrative that has a lot to do with strategy. The past 50 years are being connected with present-day Baluchistan and whether we like it or not, this story will be playing out on the big screen very soon. From the looks of the trailer, they are not holding anything back.
A Gripping, Youth-Oriented Storyline

The storyline follows a competition being held in Dhaka and we assume Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh will be in the lead. It is interesting to note that the makers have picked a narrative that is different (Bangladesh) and yet one that is sparking interest due to the history of both nations, in fact, all 3 – Pakistan, India & Bangladesh being intertwined for life.
The sepia-toned frames are adding a vintage feel to the screen – the sense of devastation, human loss, and lives in migration is palpable and touches a nerve. Pakistani viewers are looking forward to Dhaka landscapes (we hope part of the film was shot there) and how it compares or matches our own.
‘Bila Wajhe Ki Controversy‘ Is A Line Often Heard, Especially In Places Of Learning Where Those In Power Would Rather Steer Clear, But Isn’t This Where The Truth Should Be Told, Argue Our Youth

The question is, how far will the makers go to push the storyline, is there a place they will stop, will the narrative be diluted into a half-baked version or will it present a comprehensive picture? Will it be one-sided, is it driven by the ‘Defense’ forces (which then means, we question the neutrality of the content), or is it entirely an effort to bring unaddressed issues into the spotlight and change the narrative?
History has always been taught in text book form in our countries. Tradition has dictated that we learn the words, commit them to memory and regurgitate them like obedient students. Is Khel Khel Mein aiming to change all that?
Some Of The Supporting Cast We Spot In The Frame & We’re Excited For

Sheheryar Munawar, Ali Zafar (cameo?), Marina Khan, Samina Ahmed, Manzar Sehbai & Javed Sheikh
Pakistani audiences have been craving a post covid cinema watch that surpasses expectations. Khel Khel Mein seems to be giving them the complete package – entertainment, meaningful content & star power all wrapped up in a sharp narrative. Will it deliver what it promises? We certainly hope so…especially because the hopes of many more films makers & audiences are riding on it too!
