Finally, after 16 years, Babli has returned to our screens with the same fun and quirky personality! This time, to remind an impersonator who the OG Babli is! The ever-gorgeous Rani Mukerji has graced our screens yet again with the highly-anticipated film, ‘Bunty aur Babli 2’. Except for Rani Mukerji. the sequel has a different cast than the original movie. This time, Saif Ali Khan has taken Abhishek Bachchan’s place and we also have some newbies in the film, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.
Rani Mukerji has previously given us powerful performances in movies like ‘Mardaani‘, ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Hichki‘, ‘Veer Zaara’, to name a few. She is widely known and loved for the versatility she brings to every character! 2021 marks 25 years of Rani Mukerji in Bollywood and in an interview with Pinkvilla, she talks about her journey till now, how it was working with the three Khans of Bollywood, her role in ‘Bunty aur Babli 2’, and much more!

Rani Mukerji On Her Role As Babli

According to Rani, she has always related to Babli’s character. When she was shooting for the first film, she says she was single and carefree, just like Vimmi Tridevi (Babli). And now, in the sequel, Vimmi is married and has a child, just like Rani. Hence, she stated that it wasn’t difficult for her to pick up Babli’s character from where it was left off.
Rani Mukerji & Saif Ali Khan Reunite After 13 Years

The beloved ‘Hum Tum‘ joree’s reunion is exactly what the fans needed! Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan’s last film was ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic‘ which was released back in 2008. Since then, fans were eagerly waiting for the talented duo to grace their screens again and now it has finally happened!
Rani Mukerji stated that she felt extremely comfortable and happy working with Saif on the sets of ‘Bunty aur Babli 2’.
We bonded together as a team. We wanted to make this joree really work.
She went on to state that she felt at ease when she was shooting the scenes with Saif. “I just felt like this is home ground,” she added.
Working With The Three Khans Of Bollywood!

Rani Mukerji has worked with the three Khans of Bollywood namely, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, and Salman Khan. Very few actresses have had the chance to do so.
She starred in ‘Ghulam‘ opposite the megastar, Aamir Khan. She shared her experience working with him and stated, “Aamir for me has been one of the greatest actors I have worked with.” He is somebody that Rani Mukerji has always looked up to because he is her senior in the industry.
As a newcomer, I learned a lot from him (Aamir Khan).
Moreover, Rani Mukerji and Shahrukh Khan have worked together in several films, including ‘Chalte Chalte‘, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Paheli‘, and every ’90’s kid’s favorite, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai‘! Both of them look great together on-screen, don’t you agree?
While speaking about ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai‘, Rani Mukerji revealed that there have been instances where Shahrukh Khan has taken out time to teach her how to perform a particular scene. Friendship goals? We think yes!
He (Shahrukh Khan) has been like a mentor for me.
Last but definitely not least, speaking about Salman Khan, Rani joked that the superstar had taught her how to abuse on the sets of ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.’ Hilarious!
She went on to state that Salman Khan is a ‘yaaron ka yaar’, someone who will stand by you no matter what!

Rani Mukerji is a foodie just like us! She believes food is something that brings people together. Remembering a wholesome memory from the sets of Veer Zaara, Rani told Pinkvilla that Yash Chopra (the director) would feed everybody a lot!
She went on to state that she vividly remembers eating Maggi in the cold weather of Ladakh when she was shooting for the first Bunty aur Babli!
