The highly-anticipated Shaadi season is upon us. And you know what that means – a full face of makeup at every event and oof, our poor skin! But, worry not, we have a solution for you.

What most girls overlook while doing their makeup is, prepping their skin. If your base is flawless, your makeup will glide onto your skin flawlessly as well. By prepping we don’t mean applying a primer before your foundation but, a major chunk of your skin prep involves adopting healthy habits, both inside and outside, so your skin is always ready for a full glam makeup look, with or without primer!
How can we do that, you ask? Well, we are here to share some tips with you that will make your skin look healthy and glowy ahead of Shaadi season.
Before delving into topical products, we need to address the most important thing, which is to keep your insides clean and healthy so it reflects on the outside, in this case, your skin.
1. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate!

You have probably heard this a million times but don’t click out of this article just yet. Keeping your body hydrated reflects on your skin. You can try and test it out for yourself. Set a target of having at least 8 glasses of water a day.
2. No Meetha (We’re Sorry)

As much as we love meetha and junk food and no matter how good it tastes, it is not good for your health or your skin. Sugar causes breakouts and we are not saying having pimples or acne is somehow equivalent to bad skin or bad makeup skills. It has many underlying reasons and sugar is definitely not the only cause of it. However, in case you do want to avoid breaking out before a wedding function, do not reach for that piece of cake in the fridge!
3. Avoid Stress

Stay away from drama and negative people. It is said that stress shows on your skin and it not only weakens your overall health and immunity but can also cause many skin problems including acne and eczema. Plus, it can also cause severe hair loss. So, stop stressing over minor things and take care of your skin!
And don’t forget to get your beauty sleep!
Now that that’s settled, we come to topical solutions and tips you will hopefully find helpful.
4. Your Winter Savior – A Good Moisturizer

Water has amazing benefits for the skin and the overall hydration of your body. However, your skin needs a little extra hydration, especially in winter, which cannot be fulfilled with water alone, but, with a good, hydrating moisturizer.
But first, learn about your skin – find out what your skin type is, and only then should you get a moisturizer. Don’t waste your money on a product that isn’t even made for your skin type. Also, do your research before buying a moisturizer even if it is according to your skin type.
5. SPF For The Win

Yes, it works. Yes, it is important so please get yourself a good sunscreen. If you could use only 2 products in your skincare routine and still have healthy skin, it would be a good moisturizer and a sunscreen. Our desi skin has melatonin which protects us from harsh sun rays hence, we don’t see sun damage immediately, except for getting a tan and sunburns. However, not wearing sunscreen can have detrimental effects in the long run which we don’t realize until it’s too late. So go buy that sunscreen, girl. You deserve it!
Did you know? You have to apply sunscreen even at night and when you are inside your home!
6. Skincare In The Kitchen
